The Castiglioni brothers, Livio (1911-1979), Pier Giacomo (1913-1968) et Achille Castiglioni (1918-2002) all studied architecture. they worked together until 1952 when Livio decided to work solo and left.

Achille and Pier Giacomo kept on  working together and enthusiastically embraced modernity and the new technologies. They designed objects that had a function before everything else, convinced by the famous less is more. They worked with numerous Italian editors scubas Flos for lamps, Alessi for objets or Zanotta for furniture.
