audoux minnet
Very early on in their career, Adrien Audoux and Frida Minnet stand apart from their fellow designers in the 40’s & 50’s by focusing on natural materials. They became members of the French UAM (Union des Artistes Modernes) as their products respected the motto of the group to perfection: Render design accessible to the majority by using the latest means of production & cheaper materials. The simplicity of the materials used (wood, rope, bamboo) and the minimalism of their forms is relevant even today.
But clearly there is some exageration going on today. Every piece of furniture made of rope or rattan is systematically attributed to the couple.
