Osvaldo BORSANI
The Italian architect and designer Osvaldo BORSANI (1911-1985) grew up and trained with his father who was himself a furniture maker.
As an architect he designed numerous villas including his own. As a designer he collaborated with many artists, Lucio Fontana was one of them.
At the beginning of the fifties he moved from craftsmanship to industrial production to meet a larger demand with more accessible prices. This is when he created in 1953 Tecno with his twin brother Fulgenzio to produce high quality furniture for an international market.
First Tecno only manufactured Borsani’s design but then opened to famous designers such as
Vico Magistretti, Gae Aulenti or Gio Ponti.
