Arne JACOBSEN
The primary factor is proportions.
Arne Jacobsen (1902-1971) laid the foundations of Scandinavian design. Minimalism, simplicity and efficiency were the principles of the Modern Movement which he fully endorsed. He applied these rules both to his sleek architecture and design.
Beauty though must not be sacrificed for the sake of functionalism. According to him the primary factor is proportions. Nature was an endless source of inspiration to design the perfect chair : ant, swan, egg all his classics.
