Please note :

  • some little losses of cane.
  • the wood has been marked by the patina of time and turned darker,
  • light signs of wear but fully functional.

Marcel Gascoin (1907-1986) is one of the key figure of the french Reconstruction. He is one of those young creators who turn their backs on decorum Art Deco and campaign for simple and modular furniture, accessible to the greatest number.

In 1948, in order to produce his own furniture, he creates ARHEC (Aménagement rationnel de l’habitation et des collectivités aka Rational Development of Housing and Communities).
